Our Year 7s attended a day filled with fun activities in Carrickmore as part of our smoother transition programme. This was attended by other Year 7s from local schools and Year 8s from Dean Maguirc College. This is organised for all Year 7s, regardless of the school they will be transferring to feel more supported as they prepare for their move into Year 8 by helping them build confidence, make new connections, and develop teamwork skills. Throughout the day, pupils participated in a range of games and team‑building activities designed to encourage collaboration, communication, and problem‑solving. Students worked in mixed groups, giving them the opportunity to meet new peers. The transition day provided a positive and enjoyable experience that will help ease pupils into the next stage of their school journey. We even met a few of our past pupils.
