World Book Day Celebrations
Our school enjoyed a fantastic World Book Day, filled with storytelling, creativity, and a shared love of reading. Pupils arrived in their cosy pyjamas, ready for a fun‑filled day celebrating books and imagination.
We began the morning with our special Big Breakfast Read with Mrs Tracey, where pupils gathered to enjoy stories over a warm, welcoming breakfast. It was a lovely way to start the day, bringing our school community together through the joy of reading.
Throughout the day, children listened to stories, shared their favourite books, and discussed the characters and adventures they love most. We were delighted to join artist Sinéad Campbell, who brought The Snail and the Whale to life through engaging and imaginative online art activities. Our KS1 class also enjoyed science through stories using CCEA’s Anything is Possible, exploring the properties of materials through hands‑on investigation.
Our KS2 pupils visited the playgroup, reading stories with the younger children and helping to spark a love of books from an early age. They also joined Just2Easy live lessons, taking part in fun, interactive sessions that celebrated reading in a modern and creative way.
It was a wonderful day, full of imagination, storytelling, and smiles across the whole school community.
